Broken News!

So I started writing this blog by accident and now i've become a royal publicist by accident. Around 5 minutes ago I recieved a rather important text. it said....

You have heralded the arrival of a future king of England. And have done so by naming it Doylecunt.

So I am proud to be the first one to break the news in this press release and tell you all that Prince William and his missus have had a baby king and decided to call it Doylecunt.

Everyone is fit and healthy and the sweepstake winner took home a handsome £23 for guessing the correct weight of the baby.

For those who are interested the etymolygy it's actually quite interesting with this name.

the name itself has come together over many hundreds of years through a wide and varied history.

Doy is an old yiddish word for jewish.

l'ecu is ancient french for the european currency unit

and nt is a medievel silicon valley word for network (quite a common name in the late 90's with Bill Gates' third son Windows nt gates probably being the most famous person using that name)

So as you can see the meaning of the name Doylecunt is actually Jewish currency network which for me is conclusive proof that the New world order have infultrated the english royal family and his actual surname is Rothschild.

All hail baby king Doylecunt

Glastonbury is good for the soul

“Glastonbury is good for the soul” I think I said that or maybe Ste said that. Either way on the Sunday afternoon of the festival we were sat waiting for macca to get served at a bar in the sunshine taking in where we were. Whoever said it though they were right…

It's generally just a better place, i've come back with a spring in my step and still over a week later it's there. I care about things more, I want to do more and generally I just feel better. That's what glastonbury does to me, it really is good for the soul!

But I go on about it enough, there's the blog I wrote last time, which will do it more justice than whatever I write here so this time I wont do my usual gushing glasto i love you routine for once. this time i'm gonna talk about the bands i saw, or at least the bands i remember seeing, there are lots of bands i saw bits of as i was passing and lots i saw when i was wrecked, what i am gonna do is pick out the ones that stood out for me, both good and bad and also not bands too, there were comedians and jugglers and trapeze artists and awesome food and this one portaloo that was pristinely clean. infact i cant be bothered to even right a full blog about each individual thing that i saw, i'll ramble on for too long. lets just say the festival was amazing, chic, foals and ed harcourt all blew me away with how amazing they were. cat power and pictish trail reminded me that I can still find stuff that I haven't listened to before that is class and makes me want to go and discover more about them and other bands too. Billy Bragg makes me want to be a better person. And I saw the The Rolling fucking Stones, it was mint.

I am going to leave you with my attempt at an actual proper music review though.

So there was this pristine portaloo i found. for those of you haven't been to a festival before you maybe wont understand what a joyous experience this is 3 days into a festival. It was a beautiful moment just near the other stage. I walked up to the row of toilets with trepidation but then I opened the door and looking back at me was a freshly cleaned portaloo, shining plastic and that chemical smell you only get from industrial detergent. I stepped in and sat down and then in the background I heard a cheer as the surprise act walked on to the other stage. Beady fucking Eye, there I was in the midst of one of the rarest and most joyous festival experiences, a clean toilet and sound-tracking this for me were Beady Eye putting in a performance that Q described as 4 out of 5 but that I could only describe as.... actually give me a minute, so we have something to compare it to. Following them was something a little different from Liam Gallaghers lost swagger and fake bravado. Next up were The Hives. I saw them at the first festival I ever went to over ten years ago. That day lead singer Pelle Almqvist told the crowd how good they were and he was right. He walked on stage and welcomed everyone to the hives festival "I would like to thank all the bands that have supported us both before and after" (a phrase I have repeated many times over the last ten years in my attempt at a swedish accent, it tends to sound dutch which is impressive as i cant for the life of me do a dutch accent) I was a little nervous as they came on stage, they couldn't be as exciting as i remembered, they definitely couldn't be as funny as i remembered. I've been telling the story of that gig for over ten years. I've built it up too much. But that's the thing with The Hives, it doesn't matter how much you build them up Pelle will build them up even more. And he is right. they were fucking awesome, they were exciting, they were funny. THEY HAD FUCKING NINJAS FOR ROADIES!

Beady Eye ruined my shit!

lets change the meaning

***this blog rambles on a bit, but i'm tired and i think it's worth reading on cos it makes a good point***

EDL. its just three letters. that a few years ago didn't mean much. now they stand for something bad.

so what does the EDL mean to you? racists? thugs? hooligans? people who can't see past what is infront of them looking for the easy answer and someone to blame and finding the wrong answer? scumbags?

well why does it have to mean that?

i'm gonna take a quick step back.... a few weeks ago i bumped into a friend i hadn't seen for a while who mentioned that she hadn't seen a blog from me in ages. So i went home that night and tried to write one. just couldn't think of anything to write about. so i gave up. then tried again a week later, and again couldn't think.

this last week i've had something to write about. but it's not been nice. we've all seen what happened in woolwich and the fall-out thats come from it. and i didn't want to write about all the nasty things i have seen said. i've covered that topic before in this blog http://therealbigdave.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/sick.html when i witnessed racism first hand and it knocked me sick.

what happened to that poor lad this week was a horrific, unforgivable act that has ended a young lads life and ruined the lives of countless others that knew him and loved him and scarred the people who were unfortunate enough to witness it. and lots of horrible people have jumped on this situation and tried to use it to further their cause of hatred. people like the EDL and the BNP.

at a time when people should have been showing love and compassion towards people mourning the death of a loved one these groups have been leading the way in an out-pouring of hatred and bigotry. and that's what really boils my piss. as a country we should be supporting his family and celebrating his life but instead this has become an argument about race and religion.

so in that previous blog i wrote i talked about wanting to change peoples views to make them realise that differences people have are not bad things they are just different. i didn't know how to though.

then a while back facebook introduced me to the English Disco Lovers (https://www.facebook.com/englishdiscolovers?fref=ts) this is a group who are trying to change the meaning of those three letters. with a simple ambition of becoming the first thing you find when you search for EDL on google.

in a recent status about what happened in woolwich they said We must stand up for peace, equality and unity in order to put an end such violent actions.

that sounds like some pretty good things to stand up for to me.

i'm also lucky enough to play in a band https://www.facebook.com/bequietshoutloud?fref=ts. we're good lads, we like to have fun. our music is influenced amongst other things by disco. disco music is pretty awesome. the bass lines are amazing. we've been known to throw in the odd disco cover to our sets. people dance to them, they have a good time. and the english disco lovers - north east division seem to like us.

so now i'm in a position between playing in a band that loves disco and the english disco lovers existing to be part of something thats good, to try and spread a good message.

peace, equality, love, unity and having a good time are all things that make this world brilliant.

racism, bigotry, hatred and violence are all fucking horrible things.

so click the links i've put in this blog. join the english disco lovers, join the english disco lovers-north east division https://www.facebook.com/EnglishDiscoLoversEdlNorthEastDiscovision?fref=ts if you live where i do, or find your local division and join them. lets spread some love, lets have a good time, make sure you tell everyone you know about this and lets change the meaning of EDL to mean something better than it does right now.

.....well i've just read that back and christ i sound like a hippy. but fuck it, it's better than being a racist cunt aint it :)

Good News!

I'm back! ready to entertain you again with my delightfully irregular and irrelevant blog! i have recently had to blog for work, its all been very serious talking about such things as learning management systems, root cause analysis, the importance of porn in the work-place, food safety and our inter-office weight loss competition, which I am kicking (fat) arse(s) at! So it'll make a nice change to talk about nothing, look at pictures of dogs in hats and make up some incredible lies.

We've come to a common place in my blogs here, i call it the "i've decided to write a blog and got a nice first paragraph but don't know where to go from here" point. It actually happens more often than you'd think, there are hundreds of un-published blogs that have got this far then i give up. I always liked the idea of being a writer but 99% of the time i cant do it so its kind of ruled out as a career option.

The main reason I was inspired (ha inspired, i'm actually wasting time at work) to write this blog is because of the following status i spied on facebook.....

I realise, this blog isn't the kind of blog they are looking for but I now have a burning ambition to interview a great touring band, i guess you could say it's been my lifelong ambition. You may say that my lifelong ambition was to go on the gong show. But I already did that.... we got more gongs than the break-dancing robot that caught fire.

But this is more than that, just think how amazing it would be to interview a great touring band and find out if they too find dogs in hats entertaining, to ask them if they also think monkeys should be given free cigarette's just because they look so good when they smoke! whether or not jose mourinho confuses them (sexually) and if they also claim that things that happened to homer simpson happened to them (partly because its funny when other people believe it and partly because they too are convinced that homer simpsons life is based on their own) and the thing i need to know more than anything else from these great touring bands is..... have they seen starship troopers.

 it's a great film.

monkey bizness

earlier today i saw a news report on the bbc website called

Monkey in sheepskin jacket on the loose at Ikea in Toronto

and if you cant be bothered to click the link basically you are missing out on this....

yes its a MONKEY IN A SHEEPSKIN JACKET!

this is the best thing you will see all week. you will win the lottery on wednesday and this will still be the best part of the week. your first born will be born on thursday and this will still be the best part of the week.

why?

because monkeys are awesome. that is scientific fact.

LOOK!

this monkey is smoking

this one is riding a bike... WITH STABILISERS

this one is wearing a suit
this one has a dress on! LOOK! its a monkey in a dress!

yes that really is a monkey riding a dog at the worlds greatest rodeo!

that is a monkey doing magic

and thats a mexican wrestler called flying monkey midget

my point is proven!

pork flavoured tears

i'm being made to watch made in chelsea! i'm not happy.

what have i done to deserve this?

if this was a tv show it would be called "being made to watch made in chelsea" it'd mainly be me sat in the corner frantically typing while occasionally looking up at the screen and saying "fucks sake" a lot.

the rest of the show would be me planning how to kill them all! i'd start by glassing the cunt on screen now with his own champagne flute while the others watched. just as a warning to them.

they'd be given exactly one week to stop being doyles. if they didnt sort themselves out i'd start hunting them for sport. one would die each week.

i think this show would really take off.

i'd watch it if i wasn't in it.

is this acting or reality? whats going on? why do people like this?

if i hadn't been made an amazing tea and eaten my own body weight in pork i would have walked out by now!

its nothing to do with politeness i just cant move at the minute.

i really dont think i will fit in the outfit i am planning to wear on friday night any more.....

if this pitch works and "being made to watch made in chelsea" gets made then i will go on a diet cos i think that will make a nice killing suit

for fucks sake they are all doyles on this show. there's a fit ginger girl that is such a doyle i'm struggling to fancy her!

i'm going to cry.

the pork was amazing though

christmas is coming

so its just over a month till i start thinking about what i will get people for christmas. and how i will avoid seeing them until january sales start and i can get their present cheaper.

i want a bit more cash to spend this christmas, but not for presents for friends or family.

there's a lot of people who are lonely, in need, sick and homeless. its especially hard for them at this time of year and i plan to think of them while i am having all the extra christmas nights out this idea is going to afford me......

advent calendars!

not just your usual advent calendars though.

its all got too commercial. it sickens me a little inside when i see a glee advent calendar or a bob the builder advent calendar. why is there a mars bar advent calendar and what do milky ways really have to do with christmas? i've gotta say i die a little inside when i see an eastenders advent calendar and it just makes me cry when i see kids getting excited about a news at ten advent calendar.

so i'm really looking at whats important this christmas...... ME!

this year you will be able to buy an advent calendar thats not about a tv show or a band or a movie or some chocolates.

each day you will open the door and see a picture of me and hear silky smooth voice of shakin stevens singing to you, it will brighten your day and fill my pockets

lovely stuff

not so long....

i thought i wouldnt leave it as long this time, i cant decide what to write though, so i'll give you a run down of my evening and hope i think of something interesting in the mean time. tonight i have played drawsomething. ah crap yeah thats it, its all i seem to do when i'm not working at the minute. most of my drawings look like a special kid has got hold of some crayons but i'm properly addicted to playing it. i'm staying up later to play "just one more turn" then i'm tired at work the next day. then my drawings get worse cos i'm tired but it just carries on. i might need an intervention. oh i've just seen the boro score we drew with doncaster. fucks sake looks like promotion is out of the window for us now. real madrid lost tonight too, that means jose wont be very happy....

chris mentioned to me this idea recently.... what if chelsea ended up playing real in the champions league final and real won, jose denying abramovich the thing he wants most. it'd be funny as fuck.....

anyways its my turn on drawsomething.....

been a while.... again

so its been ages since i wrote a blog.

in that time i've turned 28 and got a new job.

turning 28 was weird. since i was about 16 i have joked that i was gonna be a proper rockstar and join the 27 club.... this stopped being funny around the time i was 26. when i actually turned 28 i got a right shitty on about it. it was the age i never expected to get to. i always said i would have burned out by then with a rock n roll legacy behind me. but instead i didnt really have much to show for it. this got me proper down.

fortunately i got a new job around this time. its labouring on a building site, totally different to what i have done before. but one of the best things i have done in ages, i'm fitter than i've ever been and i've got regular money in my pocket for the first time in ages. it really tires me out though so i've not been on here as much. thats gonna change. i like writing this blog. i find it entertaining and i hope others do too. plus i need to take bort to the masses as lots of people seem to be far too serious

so expect more blogs very soon.... maybe

where i am come from

two of my friends write very good blogs, they are fantastic writers and these are 2 blogs well worth reading

sam has been mentioned on here before. his blog is here...
http://irrelevantidiot.blogspot.com
 chris's blog is here.... http://mrminnellium.wordpress.com

well they have both recently wrote blogs about the area we are from (middlesbrough) and how it seems to be looking at the parmo (local delicacy/slab of calories, tastes dead nice) as a symbol of the area.

they both put forward some very interesting ideas and reasons for this. obviously i have a better idea though.

we need a symbol of our local identity. something that encapsulates our history, our minor celebrities and our parmo.

he's called bort the boro tiger

he's a bengal tiger with the body of the middlesbrough transporter bridge, the head of local singing sensation amelia lily and he has a hat made from a parmo

all hail bort

simpsons songs

a while back i decided i would think of my favourite songs from the simpsons and make a blog out of it...

these are some of my faves....

they will probably change tomorrow....

but for today this is my countdown of the top 7 and a list of those that missed out...

7. this is here for the rhyme of yokel and folk'll and cos it is awesome....

6. this is awesome, and they were so right, plus if you watch it in the episode rather than this crappy youtube video you get to see homer jumping the shark

5 i really like this one...

4 apologies for the stupid long intro on this its the best version i could find....

3 probably the best put together song they ever did from probably the best episode they ever did and yet still neither of them are my favourite. its a strange thing. genuine genius though, this is from probably the greatest episode of anything ever on tv. a brilliant story, incredibly funny and clever film references. funny from start to finish with heart. this should have been the film.

2 this made me laugh 15 years ago and it makes me laugh just as much now....

and in at number 1.......

all the knowledge i have about baseball is contained in this song....

and here's the ones that nearly made the list.....

they're not proper titles just my notes

been a while

i thought i'd write a blog, i havent in a while, and those i have wrote have been about something, thats not like me. i havent really eaten in a couple of days, this isnt like a challenge or anything, just i've not been well. stomach bug, been throwing my guts up.

ooh i got a job today, well i've already got about a million jobs at the minute but this one is a full time one, its only some labouring work for a few months but its money and will get me fit i need that.

in one way its a shame though cos i've been filling my time well recently and when i start working full time again it'll be hard to fit the hours i've been spending playing computer pinball and watching gameshows.

thats a cat playing pinball

thats richard from pointless. he is awesome. i mean he's no jose but who is, but he is still awesome. judging by the picture he is the new prime minister, he got rid of the coalition by having a game of pointless as an election, cameron and clegg went out in the first round by answering david cameron for the question who's a massive cunt. apparently 100 people out of a 100 gave that answer when asked to name as many massive cunts as they could think of in 100 seconds. stupid david and nick, surely everyone knew that was gonna be a high answer. did you know that richard osmans brother was the bass player in suede? you didnt? i bet you're glad i told you. anyways i'm glad he is prime minister i think he will do a good job i'm glad i voted for him.

also i tweeted him today (look at me all down with the kids on twitter an tha! word!) as he is running the world cup of crisps #wcocr and i felt that seabrooks prawn cocktail were definitely worth a nomination for the final 32.

i also tweeted jan aage fjortoft recently. for those of you who dont know who he is. why? are you a fuckwit? or were you just not around middlesbrough in the mid 90's? i hope its the latter! anyways he is awesome, i mean he's no jose but who is, and he used to play for boro. he once kissed tim flowers, sometimes i worry that i'm the only person who remembers this. he replied to my tweet! this made me so happy :)

here is the pic of him and tim....

i believe they later married, a small private ceremony, quite beautiful really and they had a family together, two boys jan jr and tim jr.

there is every chance i made that last bit up. everything else in this blog is totally true though. and i've mentioned jose a lot too, i saw him on sky sports recently. god i love him, he might be coming back to the premiership. that would be awesome.

just so you dont get the wrong idea though, i am going to marry this girl........

just look at those eyes! in answer to her question, i'm doing whatever she wants :)

supporting teams in other sports

so as mentioned in my previous blog me and sam are watching the liverpool man city match and have just wrote a really quick crap blog about football and this reminded me that we had a conversation recently about me supporting teams in other sports. this is because... ooh i'll break here to tell you dzeko has just scored for city to make it 2-1 to them on the night (2-2 on aggregate)... anyways back to the blog.... sam supports teams in loads of sports. i support middlesbrough in football and have a soft spot for accrington stanley too. but that was it. then a while back sam tried to get me into aussie rules and made me choose a team. so i did. so we decided i need teams in other sports. first though we're gonna look at the teams sam supports and why.

sam supports

football - middlesbrough - home town club, dad supports them, supported them for 16 years. standard reasons really.

aussie rules - west coast eagles - when he was in australia he worked in perth and stayed with a west coast eagles family

american football - pittsburgh stealers - has family in pittsburgh so thats his local team over there

baseball - pittsburgh pirates- same reason as above (fun fact... they are statistically the worst team in american sports and yanks love statistics)

ice hockey - pittsburgh penguins - has family in pittsburgh so.... oh you probably could have guessed that

basketball - minnesota timberwolves - of all the cities he visited in america he liked minneapolis the most. and since pittsburgh (his home from home) doesnt have a team he thought he would support this shower of shite (he's just informed me that they are shite)

a quick break here to tell you bellamy scored for the fucking scousers. booooooooooooooooooo

as you can see these are all very noble reasons for supporting these teams. now lets see who i've chosen and why....

first the one team i already support...

football - Middlesbrough - local team etc etc....

ooh look at me starting with a noble reason....

so now on to the others. we created a rule here for choosing. it cant be a team that sam supports. we feel the rivalry will help me get into it as i always like to wind people up! anyways here we go

so the first time we had this conversation was during the aussie rules season when sam felt i needed an aussie rules team to go for. this one was easy, i pretty much had only one team to go for....

aussie rules - adelaide crows - paul mcclain who was harold and madge bishops foster son left ramsay street to go play for the adelaide crows

so then we moved on to american football

at the time of deciding this it was down to the last 4 teams in the playoffs. so to have some interest for this season we decided i would choose one of them. it was out of new england patriots, baltimore ravens, new york giants, san fransisco 49ers. sam put forward an argument for the team i should pick and i went for them

american football - baltimore ravens - they play in purple, their linebacker should be in prison and also they are named after an edgar allen poe story.

so now we moved on to the other sports he has teams in......

ice hockey - chicago blackhawks - they are named after a bird and a theme seems to be developing plus and this is what convinced me.... when wayne and garth play street hockey in waynes world they are wearing blackhawks jerseys

when it came to baseball it was a little trickier. there wasnt a bird team i liked the sound of. so after sam making a few possible suggestions of other teams and me suggesting negro league teams i found on wikipedia (woo go zulu canibal giants) we settled on a team...

baseball - milwaukee brewers - i like beer

and now to basketball.... we havent discussed this properly till now. like exactly now while we are writing this blog. by the way the fucking scousers won. anyways back to basketball....

basketball - boston celtics - i played as the celtics a lot on nba jam for the mega drive and have always had a soft spot

so there you go, sam chose his teams for reasons of locality and family and a love for the town or city they were based in and i based mine on a character from neighbours, the colour of their shirts, waynes world, beer and the mega drive

so now we're gonna choose teams in a new sport where neither of us have teams....... lingerie football!!

for those who dont know this sport, its american football played by women in their pants! fucking class!

so how are we gonna pick these teams?

well we are gonna be thorough and take a good look at all the teams and then after really thinking about it probably go for the ones with the best name or fittest girl or something like that

fuck it barca real madrid is on now we'll pick a name and be done with it...

sam - lingerie football - las vegas sin - he likes vegas, he likes the name
dave - lingerie football - orlando fantasy - i like the name

so there we are, who do you support?

sam writes http://irrelevantidiot.blogspot.com/ its good. read it

football

me and sam are watching liverpool man city on the telly and are talking about football

we have decided to come up with our england squad.

goal keepers
joe hart
ben foster
scott carson - sam says he is playing well in turkey (i'll trust him, i didnt even know he was playing in turkey)

right backs
micah richards
glenn johnson

left backs
ashley cole
leighton baines

centre backs
rio ferdinand
phil jones
chris smalling
gary cahill

left mid
stewart downing
adam johnson

right mid
aaron lennon
theo walcott

centre mid
jack wilshere
gareth barry
steven gerrard
james milner

forwards
Wayne Rooney
jermaine defoe
danny wellbeck
peter crouch

chief of staff - robbie mustoe
head scout - des walker
chief moron - carlton palmer

this blog was wrote in under 3 minutes and joe hart has made 3 wonder saves in that time so is definitely nailed on as our number one keeper.

this is a dog in a football shirt we will write a proper blog in a minute

sick

so last night i was out working and witnessed something that shocked me to the pit of my stomach and made me feel genuinely ashamed of what i saw.

a car full of lads drove past me down the road and then i heard them shout "fucking paki cunt fuck off home" at a young lad walking down the street by himself  50 yards on from where i was stood. it took me a minute to actually realise what had happened, partly due the fact i was concentrating on sending a text at the time and partly cos i just didnt think things like that actually happened anymore.

by the time i had realised what had happened the car had sped off round one corner and the lad had scurried off in the other direction clearly upset. i was left stood where i was working in total shock.

i'm aware as i'm writing this what i have said already may sound a little naive but i think that is more the way i am putting it across. i know things like this happen, just i didnt expect to see it.

i have become aware recently of how much the far right is rising in this country but this was my first experience of it happening in front of me. i know that the bnp and edl and other far right organisations have gained much more support over the last few years. i am a member of a couple of facebook groups that are against racism and these parties and have lost many hours reading through posts of what racists have said and believe on these pages and i have become angry and get more and more wound up to the point that my only argument to them would be "fuck off!", i have tried joining in debates and always found my arguments falling on deaf ears...

i've heard people having racist conversations and have at times interrupted and tried to put them right, and shamefully on other occassions i have not interrupted and thought there is no point as they wont listen anyway.

i have seen racist comments made when drunk people are fighting and things come out in the heat of the moment. its wrong for them to say that, most of the time the people saying it know its wrong, its said when tempers are lost or to provoke a reaction. this is not right and should not be tolerated but its hard to get involved when tempers are lost and fists are flying.

but this is the first time i have seen grown men racially abuse someone in a totally unprovoked attack.

it made me so angry. there was nothing i could do at the time, as i said, those involved were gone before it had actually sunk in what had happened. i couldn't tell the people in the car they were wrong, that they were ignorant and offensive. i couldnt tell the lad that he should ignore them, that most people disagreed with what they said.

its just i feel i should be doing something though.

it winds me up so much. the stupidity of what they said. i just rant about it, i dont make my point well. i mean telling him to fuck off home, he was a young lad probably a teenager at the oldest he was in his early twenties, more likely than not born in james cook hospital and living within a mile of where this happened all his life and his parents or grandparents may well have come from pakistan, but whats that got to do with anything, they could have just as easily come from india or any other fucking country in the world it actually doesnt matter.

i'm struggling to make my point here, this is the problem i have. there is so much i find wrong with this that i dont know how to articulate it.

it baffles me so much why people are like this. i have throughout my life judged people on the things they say and do. everyone is individual. you cant judge one person on something someone who has the same skin colour or religion does. thats like people staying away from me cos someone else called dave was a rapist "gotta stay away from those daves, they're all a bit rapey" that is the level of stupidity!

so at the minute when times are harder than they have been for a while. you get groups like the edl or the bnp (look them up if you dont know much about them) spreading a racist message in the guise of protecting this country. i could talk all day long about the points i disagree with them on but i'll save that for another blog.

they twist stories and statistics and they lie, they highlight certain things while hiding others ( i know this could be for any political party)

the trouble is they give an easy answer, its easy to blame someone different. "its the muslims fault", "its the immigrants fault", "its the blacks fault", "its the jews fault".

they are all easier answers to why times are hard at the minute and through ignorance and a lack of information and education people are buying into it.

it starts with the extreme views of the horribly racist, they manage to give it a political meaning and then people start buying into it cos its easier than the truth.

and the problem in these situations is how vocal the far right are. i strongly disagree with everything they do but i dont speak up enough. i will disagree with it when it is right in front of me but i'm not vocal enough to start with. i'm white, my closest friends are predominantly white. i am educated to a decent standard as are the majority of my friends. racism is not often evident in the places i work and socialise.

so i dont come face to face with racism as often as others

and when i do, the opportunity isn't always there for me to do something about it. last night for example.

so has this blog got me any where?

well i believe racism is wrong. i dont think any body should be judged on anything other than what they say or do. i feel like i should do something about it. the hardcore extreme racists are beyond me at the minute, they need people a lot more knowledgable with a lot more power to fight them.... police, lawyers, politicians

i should be able to do something about the people who are buying into their ideas though. i honestly believe that the right is on the rise because they give easy answers and i should be there to point out they are wrong.

i'm not sure how to do this though?

politics

after my rant earlier i thought i would carry on this new serious theme of my blog.....

so who is the greatest leader the world has ever seen?

here are my nominations!

1.kim jong il.

did you know...

at the moment of his birth, a bright star lit up the sky, the seasons spontaneously changed from winter to spring, and rainbows appeared.

In 1994, it was reported by Pyongyang media outlets that Kim Jong Il shot 38 under par on a regulation 18-hole golf course – including 5 holes in one! That score is 25 shots better than the best round in history, and is made even more amazing by the fact that it was his first time playing the sport.

For a few years in the early 1990s, it was confirmed by Hennessy that Kim Jong Il was it’s best customer, spending about $600,000 to $850,000 annually on the liquor.

this is just scratching the surface of the great man.

lets be honest there is only one person who can compete here....

did you know that he is so intelligent that in his own words...

"I have little hair because my brain is so big it pushes the hair out"

kim jong il probably wins though.

and while i'm talking politics did you know that hitler was actually a cat. thats a fact! look....

also the adverts that have been on in the background while i've been doing this have reminded me how fit ginger girls are

rant!

so currently we are supposed to be living in the information age. this is something i love. at my fingertips i can find something out, about anything at any time. when i'm sat in the pub wanting to know who was top scorer in division 1 in the 94/95 season (John aldridge with 22 goals for tranmere) or when i'm sat at home wanting to know what else that actor in that film i am watching has been in. i can find these things out in 30 seconds flat.

so i get wound up when i see people making statements in their status' on facebook and getting facts totally wrong. usually repeating something they have read in the paper or on someone elses status (Copy & Paste this if you think something stupid etc...) there have been a few of these recently relating to poppies.

firstly a lot of people talking about fifa banning the england team from wearing poppies. and secondly a specific copy and paste status that is being spread around facebook at the minute.

ok to my first point, fifa banning the england team from wearing poppies during the upcoming match with spain. this is something that has been totally blown out of all proportion. its a simple case of there being a rule banning teams from wearing "any political, religious or commercial messages"  this is nothing against england or the poppy or the reasons behind it. this is just fifa having one simple rule in place for all countries, stopping anything of this sort. it doesnt take much to find this out. i typed "fifa ban poppy" into google and it was in the 3rd paragraph of the first article that i saw. people read the headline or overhear someone talk about it and they jump to conclusions. they like to think that people have something against us as a country, they like to think that someone has to do something wrong in a situation. sometimes things just dont work out as we want them to, in this case fifa had a rule in place that didnt allow the england team to wear poppies on their shirts during a match. its a shame but its not the end of the world. those players who want to wear poppies will do so in interviews, during training and in their own time.

ok so the second one that has wound me up is a horrible status that i have seen a couple of people put on their facebook profiles......

I'M DISGUSTED AT THIS COUNTRY In May 2010 Tohseef Shah spray painted a British War Memorial with "islam will dominate osama is coming" he was fined £50 & walked free from court. In November 2010, Emdadur Choudhury burned a Poppy during the 2mins silence. He too was given a £50 fine and walked free from court. Today, 2 men have been sentenced to 12 months in prison for spray painting a Poppy on a mosque. Welcome to the Great British justice system. Disgusting.... Who's brave enough to Copy & Paste this only those who think Great Britain is no longer in control!

there are a few things that i presume about this status and where it started. i'm gonna keep that to myself though as i have no proof. but there are many things that i can complain about with it though. i'm gonna list these points below to make it a little clearer and to make sure  i get my point across properly.

1. Tohseef Shah received a two-year conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £500 compensation to the council along with £85 costs. He did not receive only a £50 fine as claimed in the above message.
Tohseef Shah got away with the sentencing he did because of a lack of evidence. he was charged with what he could be charged with.

2.  The two men in question, did not get 12 months in prison for “just” spray painting a Poppy on a mosque as the status claims. They also defaced a nearby shop, a guest house, and threw bricks through the upstairs window of  the shop. It was pure luck rather than judgement that there wasn’t a child behind that window.
Ironically, the shop they defaced and vandalised was selling Remembrance Day poppies at the time of the attack. There was sufficient evidence available for them to prosecute and they got the sentencing they deserved.

the british justice system is based on evidence and that is what these cases were based on. Choudhury's fine probably was too small, but this is what a judge felt it deserved. this has nothing to do with race or religion as this status likes to insinuate.

it does nobody any favours and is just racist cunts using the poppy to get their horrid message across.

i'd like to point out now that i dont agree with anything that choudhury, shah or the two men from hartlepool did. i just wanted to show that with a couple of google searches i could provide a much more balanced argument.

i guess the point i am trying to make here is dont believe everything you see somebody write or hear somebody say. get the facts for yourself and then make a decision about something. you wont sound so stupid then.

and if you have said something about fifa being nazi's or the british justice system being out of control because of these things and i have read it, then i can tell you now, i have looked at the facts and you are an idiot.

and back again

its weird how one conversation can put you back to square one. how you think you've been doing so well and then back we go to silly head again. why am i so bothered, why do i care so much. silly questions going through my head. i'll write a proper blog tomorrow i think
